I certainly see the need for technology availability in schools from the video. Very creative I might add. Schools today are missing key elements and are living in the archaic times of the 1950′s. Some schools still have textbooks that are missing proven information, for example geography books with maps of the United States missing the Upper Peninsula of Michigan or first grade readers teaching kids sentences that are all phonetic and have no meaning towards life (Spot ran fast. So did the mailman.) I’ve actually seen textbooks look like this. Not only do we need a text upgrade but we also need a tech update. Remember the old projectors and transparencies? Chalkboards (not dry-erase–> actual chalkboards)and dusty chalk? All of these things take up space, but with a flash-drive, travel-drive, thumb-drive documents can be saved and transmitted over infocus projectors. And these are just basic. There are schools still using chalkboards and don’t know what smartboards are. I’ve only ever seen one, I’ve actually never used one. What is wrong with American society that we allow our students and children to be taught in archaic ways? It literally makes me sick to see schools struggling with their curriculum because they lack educational sources.
