{"id":292,"date":"2021-05-05T21:47:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-06T01:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trustyetc.com\/modeltrains\/?p=292"},"modified":"2021-05-07T13:42:24","modified_gmt":"2021-05-07T17:42:24","slug":"gomez-addams-train-wreck-tribute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.trustyetc.com\/modeltrains\/2021\/05\/05\/gomez-addams-train-wreck-tribute\/","title":{"rendered":"Gomez Addams Train Wreck Tribute"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Addams Family Train Wreck Tribute\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mYN8Yvqkr-8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A couple of months ago, someone sent me a comment about one of my videos with a bridge.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">            &#8220;Now you can blow up the bridge, like Gomez Addams.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I had not watched the 1960&#8217;s version of the Addams Family enough to be familiar with those <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/5kS-vk9mPR8\" target=\"_blank\">train wreck scenes<\/a>.  Once I saw the compilation, the wheels started turning and I came up with the idea for the tribute video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gomez Addams layout is O-gauge.  There are two separate layouts used in the filming and sometimes both layouts are used in one scene.  One layout uses all metal O-gauge track and the other uses track with sleepers.  Take a look at <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/5kS-vk9mPR8?t=402\" target=\"_blank\">this scene<\/a> and notice how the layout completely changes track style. They also used the same explosion footage in every episode.  The first was this one, when Gomez and an official from the school <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/5kS-vk9mPR8?t=38\" target=\"_blank\">blow up the bridge on the track<\/a>.
