height: 180px\" \/>I have a computer at my office, a computer at home and a laptop for everywhere else.\u00a0 I need to get to the Internet from each computer.\u00a0 Many of the places I visit are the same every day&#8230; online email, check classes, news, weather, Dilbert.<\/p>\n<p>As I read the news (mostly blogs about educational technology), I find interesting sites I want to remember.\u00a0 Most people bookmark new sites.\u00a0 For me, that doesn&#8217;t work.\u00a0 There is only a one in three chance I&#8217;ll be using this computer the next time I want the URL.\u00a0 This is why I use <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/del.icio.us\/\">del.icio.us<\/a>.\u00a0 I can store all my bookmarks there and be able to access them from any computer.\u00a0 <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"It's free.  \">Setup an account<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0It&#8217;s free.<\/p>\n<p>Here are my person bookmarks that I share with the public.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/del.icio.us\/atrusty\">http:\/\/del.icio.us\/atrusty<\/a><\/p>\n<p>When I login, I get all my\u00a0non-public bookmarks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Each time I speak at the eTech Ohio Conference, I\u00a0post all the bookmarks with a special tag.\u00a0 Here are last year&#8217;s links.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/del.icio.us\/tag\/etechohio07\">http:\/\/del.icio.us\/tag\/etechohio07<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.trustyetc.com\/trustyblog\/2007\/02\/02\/tagging-and-tag-clouds\/\">Tagging<\/a>\u00a0permits the grouping of links based on\u00a0descriptive words of your choosing.\u00a0You can manage your own links with tags or check links other people have found.\u00a0 I have started to tag &#8220;educational court case&#8221; articles I read with the &#8220;edulaw&#8221; tag.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/del.icio.us\/tag\/edulaw\">http:\/\/del.icio.us\/tag\/edulaw<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Using a site like del.icio.us makes it easy for me to move from computer to computer and always have my personal bookmarks.<\/p>\n<p>There are other ways of accomplishing the same thing.\u00a0 If you use Firefox, there is an extension called <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/tools\/firefox\/browsersync\/\">Google Browser Sync<\/a>.\u00a0 Start by setting up a Google account.\u00a0\u00a0Then install this Firefox extension on each computer you use.\u00a0 Each time you start Firefox, it will check to see if your bookmarks have been changed and update the current computer.<\/p>\n<p>With del.icio.us there is no software to install.\u00a0 You can get to your bookmarks from any computer in the world.\u00a0 It&#8217;s one of those things I use every time I use the Internet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a computer at my office, a computer at home and a laptop for everywhere else.\u00a0 I need to get to the Internet from each computer.\u00a0 Many of the places I visit are the same every day&#8230;
