http:\/\/www.viksoe.dk\/gmail<\/a><\/p>\n I do most of my work at home on my desktop computer.\u00a0 In class I carry a laptop.\u00a0 Very often I will create a document on my desktop that I need to use on my laptop.\u00a0 It\u2019s no big deal if I am at home.\u00a0 Everything is networked.\u00a0 But once I head to the office, it gets more difficult to grab something from home.\u00a0 I have several USB drives.\u00a0 Those are great as long as I remember to copy the files to one ahead of time.<\/p>\n I have had a GMail account for more than a year.\u00a0 I think that account can hold up more than two gigabytes of \u201cstuff\u201d.\u00a0 The only time I have really used GMail is to\u00a0email myself\u00a0big files.\u00a0 Now someone has created a utility that makes the whole process trivial.\u00a0 GMail Drive creates a new drive on your computer right in Windows Explorer.\u00a0 Under C and D, I now have GMail Drive.\u00a0 That drive is really my GMail email account.\u00a0 The utility turns my GMail account into a \u201cportable\u201d disk drive.\u00a0 I can drop a file into the GMail Drive on my desktop and go to my office.\u00a0 On that computer I also have the GMail Drive utility.\u00a0 I open the drive on my office computer\u2026 and the file is there.<\/p>\n I still have to remember to copy the file before leaving home, but everything else is easy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" http:\/\/www.viksoe.dk\/gmail I do most of my work at home on my desktop computer.\u00a0 In class I carry a laptop.\u00a0 Very often I will create a document on my desktop that I need to use on my laptop.\u00a0 It\u2019s no big … Continue reading
