{"id":493,"date":"2007-11-15T21:58:36","date_gmt":"2007-11-16T02:58:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trustyetc.com\/trustyblog\/2007\/11\/15\/vista-problems\/"},"modified":"2007-11-18T22:38:12","modified_gmt":"2007-11-19T03:38:12","slug":"vista-problems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.trustyetc.com\/trustyblog\/2007\/11\/15\/vista-problems\/","title":{"rendered":"Vista Problems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" align=\"right\" width=\"180\" src=\"http:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/56\/114460242_638ddf8e73_m.jpg\" height=\"240\" style=\"width: 180px; height: 240px\" \/>I have been using Vista since July without any problems.\u00a0 I have a dual core machine with 2 GB of RAM and a 7900 nVidia graphics card.\u00a0 I keep the updates current and don&#8217;t run anything weird.<\/p>\n<p>Last week a major problem started.\u00a0 The right-click menu disappears randomly.\u00a0 I think it may be related to IE7.\u00a0 Most of what I can find online points\u00a0in that direction, but most people seem to have this problem when too many tabs are open.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t use tabs.\u00a0 They are turned off.<\/p>\n<p>Here is another symptom.\u00a0 When I try to Save As, the window is blank.\u00a0 Sometimes all I see is the outline of the window.\u00a0 Also, new programs won&#8217;t start at all.<\/p>\n<p>Some reports point to a lack of memory.\u00a0 I have never used more than 1.5 GB of my 2.0 GB of RAM.\u00a0 I have noticed that if I restart IE7, that usually fixes the problem.<\/p>\n<p>What baffles me is the timing.\u00a0 Everything has been running well for several months.\u00a0 For the last ten days, I get this problem at least once a day.\u00a0 That&#8217;s too much of a hassle for me.\u00a0 Something is going to have to change.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been using Vista since July without any problems.\u00a0 I have a dual core machine with 2 GB of RAM and a 7900 nVidia graphics card.\u00a0 I keep the updates current and don&#8217;t run anything weird.
