{"id":582,"date":"2008-02-04T23:25:53","date_gmt":"2008-02-05T04:25:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trustyetc.com\/trustyblog\/2008\/02\/04\/the-resources\/"},"modified":"2008-02-05T22:07:03","modified_gmt":"2008-02-06T03:07:03","slug":"the-resources","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.trustyetc.com\/trustyblog\/2008\/02\/04\/the-resources\/","title":{"rendered":"The Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trustyetc.com\/trustyblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/slide006.JPG\" alt=\"slide006.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In case you missed it, here is slide six again.<\/p>\n<p>I wish more people did this, but I can&#8217;t seem to make it happen on my own.\u00a0 For the last three years I have saved all my links for my talk at the eTech Ohio conference using a del.icio.us tag of eTechOhio06, eTechOhio07, eTechOhio08, respectively.\u00a0 By doing this, I can give one URL during my talk, and all the\u00a0attendees can access all my links from that one URL.\u00a0 Here is the link from today&#8217;s talk:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/del.icio.us\/atrusty\/eTechOhio08\">http:\/\/del.icio.us\/atrusty\/eTechOhio08<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I started my presentation with the links.\u00a0 I had four pages of links\u00a0(about 60 total). I\u00a0flipped through in less than ten seconds.\u00a0 That was followed by slide six with one\u00a0URL\u00a0that will go to a page listing all 60 links.<\/p>\n<p>During a talk, it seems like such a waste of time to stop and let everyone write down all the\u00a0URLs.\u00a0 Chances are, many will write down the wrong addresses, especially if the links are long.\u00a0 One top of that, writing links onto a piece of paper more than doubles the work.\u00a0 You have to go back to your computer and type them in manually.\u00a0 In a month, when you have a situation requiring one of those links, you won&#8217;t have that piece of paper with you.<\/p>\n<p>By placing all the links into del.icio.us, I have assured that none of the links will be misspelled and no one will have to manually type any of them into a browser.\u00a0 Go to my list and click on the link you want.\u00a0 It&#8217;s just that simple.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In case you missed it, here is slide six again.
